Demo for disease network
Demo for disease-symptoms diagnosis

1st Part: Phenotype Prediction

This part of the demo shows a subset of the disease network with 8000 nodes learnt by the random graph methods.

  1. By clicking a node on the right hand graph or selecting diseases in the selection box
  2. the 10 most relevant phenotypes will be listed and shown in the bar chart below.
Only phenotypes with probability greater than 20% are shown. The probability of having these phenotypes given the selected disease is shown on the pie chart. If the listed phenotype is less than 10, this means that the selected disease has less than 10 associated phenotypes with >20% probability. To reset the layout of the graph, i.e. disappears after zoom in, just refresh the whole page.

Figure 1. The bar chart shows the probability of phenotypes given the selected disease in the selection box. The index label for each bar corresponds to the index in the list phenotype above.

2nd part: Disease Prediction

This part of the demo shows the disease diagnosis tool given phenotypes:

  1. By typing the keywords in the insert box, the relevant phenotypes will appear in the left selection box.
  2. Select the phenotype in the left selection box and click the ADD button. The phenotype will appear in the right box. You can add multiple phenotypes.
  3. Click the FIND button.
The predicted probability of having diseases given phenotypes is listed below "Probability of Disease". The disease name is followed by the percentage of probability. The relevant diseases are ordered by the associated probabilities and given an index number. Each disease's index number corresponds to a slice of the pie chart.
